A well-designed loyalty program keeps customers coming back, and spending more each time they visit. FlexWash Loyalty Points are built directly into your POS and wash menu, allowing you to reward repeat customers without external tools, manual tracking, or operational overhead.

How Loyalty Points Work

Loyalty Points are earned when a customer purchases an eligible wash package or add-on. Points accumulate on the customer profile and can later be redeemed for free items once a defined threshold is reached. Points are a fixed amount per item that you set, not a percentage of what the customer paid. Membership signup and monthly renewal orders earn the membership package’s points the same way, so a member accrues points every billing cycle. Points post when the order is paid.

When Points Are Not Earned

Points are earned only on paid orders. These cases earn nothing:
  • The order is not paid. Open, pending, and voided orders earn nothing. Points post when the order is paid.
  • No customer on the order. Guest and walk-up sales with no customer profile earn nothing.
  • The order redeems points. An order that redeems Loyalty Points earns none, even if it also contains eligible items.
  • A wash book or membership benefit is redeemed. The redeemed wash earns nothing. Add-ons on the same order still earn.
  • Items with no points configured, and non-wash lines such as tax, tips, store items, and gift cards.
A refund does not remove points. Once an order is paid the points are on the customer’s balance and stay there, including after a partial refund.

Promotions

Any item discounted by a promotion earns no points on that order, no matter how small the discount. A one dollar promotion suppresses points exactly as much as a free wash. This includes membership orders. A signup with a promotion applied to the membership package earns zero points for that membership, not fewer points. Other items on the same order earn normally. Upsells and downsells do not affect points.

Configuring Loyalty Points

Loyalty Points are configured from the Wash Package and Add-Ons configuration pages. For each eligible item, you define:
  • Points Earned per purchase.
  • Points Required to redeem that wash package or Add-On for free.

Example

Wash package configuration showing the Points Earned and Points Required fields
  • A customer earns 10 points for each purchase of the Deluxe wash.
  • The Deluxe wash requires 40 points to redeem.
After four qualifying purchases, this customer becomes eligible for a free Deluxe wash. This is how it will show up on the Pay tablets: Pay tablet showing a customer redeeming a free Deluxe wash with Loyalty Points

Optional Redemption

Redemption is always optional. Customers can choose to:
  • Redeem points as soon as they qualify.
  • Continue accumulating points to redeem higher-value washes or add-ons later.
This flexibility encourages continued engagement while giving customers control over when and how they redeem rewards.

Operational Benefits

  • Encourages repeat visits without relying on discounts.
  • Increases perceived value while protecting margins.
  • Requires no manual tracking or reconciliation.
  • Can be configured for single washes, membership packages and add-ons.
Loyalty Points in FlexWash are simple for customers, effortless for staff, and designed to drive long-term retention without complicating operations.
