The tunnel tablet shows the Wash Queue to the employee loading vehicles into the tunnel. Each vehicle appears with its photo and wash package, in the order it passed through the gate. It is sometimes called the “Loader Screen.” Setup takes three steps: connect the tablet to the FlexWash network, open the Wash Queue page, and confirm vehicles appear.
For supported devices, recommended models, and minimum specs, see Tunnel Tablet hardware requirements.

Network

The tunnel tablet must be on the FlexWash network. It cannot load the Wash Queue from your business network, a guest network, or cellular data. Connect it by ethernet or by WiFi. Fixed panel PCs typically use ethernet. Mobile tablets, such as an iPad, use WiFi.

Ethernet

Run a CAT5E or CAT6 cable from the tablet to one of the following:
  • The main switch in the network cabinet, on any port from 3 to 23.
  • An edge switch, on any port from 2 to 5, when one is closer to the tunnel entrance.
The tablet receives its address from the FlexWash network automatically. It does not need a static IP.
Use outdoor rated cable and a weatherproof connection anywhere the run is exposed to water or chemicals in the tunnel.

WiFi

Join the tablet to the FlexWash WiFi network and confirm it stays connected at the loading position. Tunnel walls and equipment often block WiFi signal from the access points in the office or checkout area. If the signal is weak at the loading position, mount an additional FlexWash access point in or near the tunnel. Inside the tunnel, install it in a waterproof, non-metal enclosure.
Test the signal with the tablet at the exact spot where the loader stands, not at the tunnel entrance. A connection that drops during a busy period stops the loader from seeing the queue.

Open the Wash Queue

With the tablet on the FlexWash network, open the Wash Queue in any browser using the link or the QR code below.

Bookmark the page or add it to the home screen so the loader can reopen it in one tap.

Verify the Setup

The Wash Queue appears once the page loads: Wash Queue showing vehicles waiting to be loaded Run a test vehicle through checkout and the gate. It should appear on the tunnel tablet as soon as it passes the gate. For how vehicles move from checkout to the tunnel, see FlexWash Queues. If the page does not load, or shows an error loading the queue, see Tunnel Tablet Issues.
