# Memberships
> What is a membership package, membership benefit, and how to set them up
## **Membership Benefit**
Membership benefit is what you get when you redeem an unlimited membership, an express wash, or a full service wash. Membership benefits can be set as recurring or interval (once per X).
Promotion is when they come in with a QR code and get some kind of discount.
discount is a non-promotional discount.
Promotion or membership benefits can apply to a package that is redeemable via points.
We would grab all orders in a given date range (today on the dashboard, a range on the sale summary) and:
* Classify it by the package the order is linked to
* Classify it as either a member or single wash based on if the order had any associated membership benefit
* Classify the memberships as a re-bill or new sign up based on the customer's history

## Membership Package
Subscription where customers pay a monthly fee for regular washes. Instead of paying each time, they get a set number of washes or unlimited washes during the membership period. Some packages may also include extras like discounts on other services or faster service.

## Editing the Wrong Benefit Configuration
If the wrong benefit has been configured for a package, it can be easily edited in the system. To do this, navigate to the benefit settings for the specific package. Once there, you can select the correct benefit wash package from a list of available options. This allows you to ensure that the appropriate benefit, such as a different wash package or membership type, is applied based on the customer's eligibility. The system will then automatically update the benefit configuration for the package to reflect the correct settings.

## **Unattended Benefit for Self-Serve Lanes**
This benefit is automatically applied in the unattended lane. For example, a vehicle with a membership linked to the "Express Membership" package (type: membership) may have a benefit called "Express Unlimited," which is set as the **Unattended Default**. This benefit is linked to the "Express Wash" package (type: express).
When this customer arrives, the gate will automatically open for them, and the benefit will be applied automatically, granting them an "Express Wash."
