# Claude (Desktop and Web)

> Ask Claude about your car wash in plain English and get answers from your live FlexWash data.

The [FlexWash MCP server](/marketing-and-ai/ai-assistants/mcp-server) gives
[Claude](https://claude.ai) read access to your FlexWash reports. Instead of
building a report, you ask a question:

* "How many memberships did we sell at each site last week?"
* "Which site had the highest churn last month, and why?"
* "Compare wash counts and revenue this month to the same month last year."
* "Which employees gave the most no-charge washes this week?"

Claude picks the right FlexWash reports, runs them, and explains the results.

Set it up once, on the web at [claude.ai](https://claude.ai) or in Claude
Desktop. FlexWash is then available everywhere you use Claude with that
account, including the Claude mobile apps. The steps below show Claude
Desktop; claude.ai has the same screens.

## Requirements

* **A FlexWash admin account.** Only admin users can connect. Claude sees the
  same car washes and data you can see in FlexWash.
* **A Claude account** on a plan that supports custom connectors. On a Claude
  Team or Enterprise plan, your Claude organization owner may need to add the
  connector before members can connect it.

>
> The connector is read-only. Claude can run FlexWash reports, but it cannot
> change memberships, customers, prices, or any other data.

## Connect FlexWash

**1. Open Settings**

In Claude Desktop or at [claude.ai](https://claude.ai), click your name in
the bottom left corner, then click **Settings**.

**2. Add a custom connector**

Click **Connectors**, then **Add**, then **Add custom connector**.

**3. Enter the FlexWash server**

Enter the following, then click **Continue**:

* **Name:** `FlexWash`
* **URL:** `https://api.flexwash.com/mcp`

**4. Keep the detected sign-in settings**

Claude detects how FlexWash signs you in. Leave the defaults selected:

* **Authentication:** Sign in now
* **OAuth client:** Use Claude's published identity

Leave **Request headers** empty, then click **Add**.

**5. Sign in with FlexWash**

Click **Connect**. Your browser opens the FlexWash sign-in page. Sign in
with your FlexWash email and password, then allow Claude to access your
FlexWash account.

When you return to Claude, the connector shows as connected.

## Ask a Question

Start a new chat and ask about your car wash. If Claude doesn't use FlexWash,
open the **+** menu in the message box and check that **FlexWash** is turned
on.

> Name the time period and sites in your question, for example "last week at
> the Main Street location". Claude runs faster, more focused reports when it
> doesn't have to guess.

## Usage Limits

Each question can run several FlexWash reports. To protect performance, each
user can run up to **30 reports per minute** and **1,000 reports per day**. If
you reach a limit, Claude tells you how long to wait.

## Disconnect

Go to **Settings** > **Connectors**, select **FlexWash**, and choose
**Disconnect** from the menu. To stop all access immediately, ask your FlexWash
administrator to remove or downgrade your FlexWash user.

## Troubleshooting

| Problem | Solution |
| - | - |
| The sign-in completes but Claude says it can't connect | Your FlexWash user must be an admin. Ask your FlexWash administrator to check your access. |
| The sign-in page shows an error | Sign out of FlexWash in your browser, then click **Connect** again. |
| Claude answers without using FlexWash | Turn on **FlexWash** in the **+** menu of the message box. |
| Claude says a limit was reached | Wait the number of seconds Claude shows, then ask again. |

> Claude processes the report results you ask about under your Anthropic
> account's terms. Review your Claude plan's data settings before connecting.
